For me, a normal friend would be about $10-$20, Close ones would be about $40-60. How about you?
Ahh...for Family and really close friends, my pocket is sure to break .lolz

mine is about the same but it's not about how much your willing to take out of our pocket it's if they would really like the gift or not that counts

For my friends i spend between £40-60, For family members i spend £100-150

Just depends on the person really. Some people are materialistic and want expensive gifts, some are not. I get a gift to suit them. Close family and friends i really have no limit, but just random people i know get a limit of 20 bucks!

10-20, but it depends on the freind, and how much I have to spend. I have been known to spend a great deal more than that if need be. and for family, again it depends on what i have to spend, but I try to buy each kid a big gift, and some smaller gifts. (this year my son and daughter got a trip to california, all expenses paid)

Depends on what the friend is wanting and if there will be a bash or if I will just be dropping by a gift or not. I would say right around $30 or so.

At least less than $20 worth, depending what they got me for my birthday. But if it were at a special time, and there was something they really wanted, I would do my best no matter the price (not over $50).

below $20 lots of the time. At maximum, I spent approximately $50 on a pal's birthday those days, cos she bought me some thing branded and that i felt that I ought to return the desire.

Forty to sixty dollars is extreme, unless you are very well to do. Twenty dollars is about average for a good friend. I do spend more on family. I do not want my close friends feeling they have to buy me expensive gifts back. I think it would be best to stay conservative for that reason alone.
