My baby is 1 month old and her lips have been purple for a week. We took her to the doctor and they checked her heart and said everthing is fine. Has anyone else experienced this with their newborn? My baby is breast fed so it's not from sucking a bottle too hard. Any suggestions?

I'm 34 and I get purple lips when I'm cold. I have all my life since I was a newborn. Make sure your baby is warm enough.

Maybe she's cold? Do her fingers feel cold or are they purple too? She may be having a hard time adjusting to life outside of the womb.

The two things that come to my mind are cold and lack of oxygen.

Is she cold? Is she moving much to get the blood circulating and warm her up?
