They will definitely be the stronger economy by that time, in fact, it is already overtaking the US in several economic areas (source: the Economist magazine, April 07) but I certainly am not frightened as China's good relations with the rest of the world are important as their export market relies on it. The last thing the chinese would want to do is to antagonise the rest of the world. Think Russia in the cold war. Everyone feared them, but they turned out to be as entreprenurial as the US.

Off and on, China has been the most powerful country in the world for the past 4000 years. They have also been the most peaceful country for the past 4000 years. Most likely this trend will continue.

The USA acts wisely when it avoids pissing them off. It is much better to be their friend than to be their enemy. At present, China likes the USA. Let's keep it that way.

At the rate we are both growing economically, China will be ahead in a few decades. This would happen if we don't come through with a major breakthrough, or a major catastrophe happens over there.

They probably will be...... powerful, ambitious, wealthy, and technologically superior, and at the height of their success in all these things, they will, like the United States, begin the long slide downhill into self-indulgence, corruption, moral decadence, and self-destruction. It seems to be the pattern for how empires rise, peak, and fall.

I think they will rival the US in 30-50 years.. but unless we (the US) collapse on ourselves we should still be numero uno .. but it doesn't really matter.. our relations with China are getting better and better.. I see them as being a great friend in the future.. not a foe

China will be the most powerful. They will be strong, they will squash those that cause problems and they will not put up with others complaining.
