Depending om WHERE you live, HIGH SPEED is by far the best system to use. You do not say where your home is but I suggest you contact your present ISP either by e-mail or phone and ask if they can provide you with high speed.

With dial-up you are getting at most 5 to 10 k's per second
With high speed you will get 300 ! k's per second.

A simpler explanation is that if you are downloading, for example Microsoft's free anti-spyware (DEFENDER) it will take you 10 miunutes with dial-up and 10 seconds with high speed !

High speed will cost you from $30 to $45 a month. The best money you could spend on such a wonderful activity called computing.

I am afraid that is the wrong way of framing this particular question. You may be better off asking ``which is the fastest internet service in my area''!! ISPs are limited by the locality which they serve. So, the answer depends on the place where you live.

and the next best bet is dsl but it too is not available strictly everywhere but it is more available than wireless and if you have dialup you almost assuredly can get dsl so go dsl and go with covad
