It has already started! Areas of Europe had their warmest winter on record, Britain has had three of its warmest months on record in the past year, sea levels are already rising and the deserts are expanding.

We need to wake up to the dangers and realise we can't keep consuming energy at such a fast rate. Carbon should be rationed with those needing to pollute more paying more, and those that don't use all their ration, selling them. Surely the environment is worth more than a 4x4 car or a foreign holiday?

According to Nova, global "dimming" is helping keep the global temperature a bit lower than expected. This is caused by a combination of air born pollution and condensation reflecting 10% of the earths light back into space. Without the pollution, our global temperatures would be almost 10 .degrees warmer. This was actually proven after 9/11 when all flights were canceled from 9/11 to 9/14. Our daytime temperatures were much higher and nighttime was much cooler as a cause. What does this mean? There is a lot of balance in our weather, if we concentrate on just removing one type of pollution, we could get an adverse effect. Sure, global climate change causes droughts, floods and famine..but our temperatures really haven't fluctuated as drastically as we expected, causing doubt if global warming is really a serious threat or even exists.

Global warming, like global cooling, is part of the natural and ongoing climatic cycle.
This planet's mean temperature cycles around the freezing point of water, the key word here being 'cycles'.
The average temperature is not a static entity and it has been changing one way or the other since this world had water and a clear view of the sun.
BTW, ozone doesn't have jack to do with global warming. Whoever said that needs to do a little _real_ research instead of watching movies.

Planet earth has gone thru several warm ages as well as several ice ages, any geologist can verify this. As to rather man is responsible for the one that seams to be beginning now, well the evidence is not all in yet. However it must be stated that during the last warm age, it seamed to be beneficial to man. Crops can be grown much further north and south than at present. One bad thing that can be foreseen is that the Arctic regions will melt, though not completely, and the coastlines will be further inland than they are today.
