i could not find any information for texas, but i called the nurse whom i know personally at the ob in the hospital where i had my baby. and she said that if the state is responsible for your delivery, then they drug test, they feel like if the tax payers are paying for you to have a child, you better not be bringing it into the world all messed up. however, if you have private insurance (which i did) it is up to the doctor. i called my doctors office from the pregnancy and was told they tested me once every two months when i submitted a urine sample. i hope this helps. if you have smoked recently, then you should be drinking lots of water (not cranberry juice) and trying to flush the toxins out of your body and your baby's. if your baby shows up positive, they probably will investigate. let this be a lesson to you.

Most states test all newborns for drugs. In many states, a positive test is reason enough to take the baby. Being pregnant is hard, it is a lot of responsibility. We give up chemicals (including smoking and caffeine) and eat right and take good care of ourselves. Being a parent takes a lot more responsibility than being pregnant. The laws are there for a reason, if you have really given it up then you will be able to speak with a social worker about it if the baby has a positive result.

It is mandatory that the first drs appt they take a drug test. Then it is the drs option to continue doing one every visit or not. He just checks your pee. If it shows positive you will be questioned. You and the baby may even be tested when the baby is born. CPS may come in and ask you some questions, but as long as you don't do it again you'll be fine.

Considering you last smoked on 420 and you only took one hit friday, you MOST LIKELY would be alright, however everyone's body is a bit different. I think it all depends on how much you smoked (this case how big the hit was on friday), what your body weight and mass is, and how fast your body works to get stuff out of your system. But I am pretty sure just taking one hit wouldn't do anything.

You said that you are clean so there should be nothing to worry about. Unless you used after you found out that you were pregnant and just recently stopped. If that's the case, they should take the baby away because you would have given the baby drugs as well. Hopefully, you stopped as soon as you found out you were pregnant and there won't be problem with the drug test then. If you used after you found out you were pregnant and your baby tests positive, I pray that they do take the baby away because that's abuse.

If its not it should be. Women who are too selfish to give up drugs while they are pregnant should not be able to be a mother.
