Cold mustard is a sauce used on fish and roast beef. Supposed to be pretty good. Here is the recipe to make it at home... the reason I give you this so you know what is in it.
1/3 cup plain yogurt
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tsp. white wine vinegars
3 tbsp. Dijon mustards
1 tbsp. minced green onions
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
Steps
Step One Click to enlargeCombine all ingredients in a bowl. Whisk until smooth. Taste. Correct seasonings if it's not tangy or peppery enough for you.
Step Two Click to enlargeCover and chill thoroughly. Serve with fish, shellfish, cold roast beef or vegetables.

Actually, mustard can be held out of the refrigerator or in it,but it is not a hot sauce. So they were asking this question because they don't know if they can bake the mustard in the oven -you can't bake mayonnaise, which is similar to mustard-. But I know what you are talking about,I always order for a pizza with chicken, onions and mustard sauce!

I guess it's the opposite of hot as in bite type heat rather than physical heat.
Which would somehow go against the whole point of mustard if you ask me. Mustard should make your scalp feel as if it's trying to escape from your head.
Give me some Hot English Mustard any day of the week.

You can buy "hot" mustard that has a bite to it. Or you can buy regular mustard ("cold" mustard).
Unless you specify that you want hot mustard, they're assuming you want the regular stuff. That's why they yell out cold mustard - they're letting the guys know that it's not the hot stuff.
