give her the stage 3 foods but with stuff that may be a little too big, just mash it up a little...not too small so she can used to texture. Also try those Gerber Veggie puffs and Fruit puffs. They disolve in the mouth so they're safe. When she gets used to texture, cut up fruit into small pieces. Good luck!

I started giving my daughter very soft solids at 7 months. How I knew she was ready? She kept wanting my food...especially my bread! So I started with zweiback cookies since she was teething and it felt good on her gums. She was able to suck on them and mush them up. Then I tried some little bits of potatoes...basically just little bits at a time and watching her closely. If she didn't like something or was having a hard time chewing or swallowing I took it from her and gave her something else. She loved the Sweet Potato Puffs and eventually graduated to Cheerios. The meat sticks and chopped fruits and veggies from Gerber are very soft and easy to mush with gums. My daughter loves them...still! My dr. said as long as she can handle it and has no allergic reactions then to go ahead and give new things a try. Hope this helps some and best of luck!

My son is almost 10 months old with NO teeth. We do feed him the stage 3 baby food along with: gerber flavored puffs, biter biscuits, kix, cut up grapes, mandarin oranges, and lots of other foods that are cut up really small. Even if they don't have any teeth they can still eat some solids foods. Good luck and I hope my advice helps a little.

As you already know, every baby is different, so start reading her cues to let you know what to do.
Depending on how many teeth she has, let her start with thing that easily mash. I would test things by mashing them with my tounge on the top of my mouth. If they mashed okay, the baby would be okay using her gums.
It's really up to you as a mom and what you are comfortable with. Don't feel pressure to feed too much too soon. You may be bored with all the stage 2 foods, but your baby may be content still!

i think it's gerber that makes these little snack things that kinda look like cereal, but they dissolve really fast when you chew on them. i used them to help with the transition to more solid foods, and my daughters loved them. it was also a big help in teaching them to feed themselves, to just set a couple in front of them and they'd pick it up and stick it in their mouths. as for the 3rd foods, i don't think it's really necessary to give her other things first unless you really want to. the 3rd foods are still pretty mushy, it shouldn't be a difficult transition. good luck.

Try giving her small pieces of banana or some Cheerios. If she can pick them up and put them in her mouth herself, then try the stage 3 foods.

the best finger foods are the Gerber finger foods because they melt when the babies eat them so you don't have to worry too much about them choking on the hard pieces.. before i gave my daughters (who are now 16 & 6) the Gerber finger foods i gave them Cheerios..which are the best things.. that and French Toast slices.. cause its soft.
good luck and god bless!!

You just have to feel it out with your baby.
With my girl, I had to mix the stage 2's with the stage 3's at first. She didn't like the texture. It didn't have anything to do with knowing how to chew it. Plus, your baby might just not like the stage 3's. You may just need to switch right on to table food (minus the salt, butter, etc.). I've tasted the stage 3's.....YUCK!!!

We started with the Gerber Sweet Potato "Puffs". They'll dissolve in the mouth, so no choking hazard.

Try thirds frist .plus cheerios!! It teaches them to pick up and the spit softens it up. Try soft food like bananas cut up ,cooked carrots cut up. Anything soft and small so they don't choke. Good luck !! Spaggetti too.
