"considering a poll takes a cross section of what the population wants, we prolly like them because it tells us what the people want, instead if what corporate amerika wants us to want. "

...Just like the 2004 exit polls, eh?

A week before the 2006 election, Karl Rove said in an interview that he looked at about 60 polls every week, and those polls indicated that the republicans would keep the house and senate. He seemed pretty infatuated with those polls.

IMO, it tells the Democrat politicians what to do. Rather than based policies on reality, the Dems base policies on poll results in the belief that it will then garner them votes.

Because, otherwise, their resistance to Social Security reform, their support of Nationalized Health Care, their support for withdrawal/defeat in Iraq, their support of handgun bans, their resistance to school choice, their "windfall" profit taxes, thier belief that appeasement brings peace, etc, just don't make any sense.

Polls are just another way to verify that their propaganda (the liberal media) is working and it in itself is propaganda.

Corporations use them, broadcasters use them, politicians use them. Statistics, and, modern social science have allowed us to use polls to the benefit of many. Welcome to the modern world.
