I had a person in front of me argue with the cashier about eight cents and they called over the Head cashier and the manager. Meanwhile I have two items and a screaming toddler and my nerves were shot. This took about six minutes of this woman whining about eight cents. The cashier couldn't take me because she had to keep the current transaction on the register. There were about four or five people behind me and I was stuck. That was the worst experience ever. I just wanted to reach into my purse and give the woman eight cents and tell her to get the hell out of the way. So long story short about six to seven minutes is enough for me.

There's no time limit for me. I'm there for a reason and provided I want to complete whatever task there is I have to wait in line. The option is always there that I can leave and try again some other time. Besides I use it as an opportunity to take in my surroundings and observe people. When you have time believe me you notice the weirdest things about people. Its also a nice place to start up conversations with other people, who knows you might even make a good friend. The point is don't focus on the line, focus on something else. Before you know it you're ahead of the line and its your turn. Besides its a nice way to build some patience too.

Oh, I'll wait it out for a while...I'm pretty patient. If hubby is there, 5 minutes, no more. He is very impatient. If the cashier is talking on her cell phone or talking to another employee and not doing her job, then I am gone.

I know what you mean I hate that. ONE time I was waiting in line at a Wal-Mart and we were right behind this foreigner( no offense) and they all ready get no taxes and stuff and he had all these coupons wanting to get his whole stuff for free he had like 12 boxes of well say it was hot pockets. and that took almost forever. It aint like he's going to miss the money he probaly owned the gas station down the street, but oh well back to your question about 15 minutes does me. Great question.

(scenario) That cashier should just ring for the manager and get on with it....let the manager handle it. Cashier's job is waiting on people not standing and arguing with a distraught customer.

the worst position to attend in line (i'm speaking HOURS the following) is anyplace the position you're being made to attend to provide them funds. The runners up are: Arizona motor vehicle branch Pima County and Tucson city site visitors courtroom Arizona branch of economic protection (unemployment advantages) And the grand award is going to: Any Social protection advantages workplace. that's the region in dealing with particular divisions of authorities workers. because it takes an act of Congress to fireside them they could interrupt out with something. and they hate you. truly. I worked at DES for 3 weeks. I must have snuck in a recorder. you'll not trust how the employees search for advice from with their customers. Vindictive would not even come close.

Depends if I am with my kids or not. I am more patient when I am alone. But when kids are crying I am trying to check out 10 minutes is way to long for me. But if I am alone I can wait 10-15 minutes...

I don't get mad about that. I have better things to get mad about. What is the poor cashier to do if some jerk is arguing about a paltry amount. How does you getting mad help the situation? It doesn't and it makes everyone else uncomfortable. Save getting angry for the president, alberto gonzales and carl rove.

If I'm with a friend, I have unlimited tolerance for line waiting because I have someone to talk to or make fun of other people with. If I'm by myself. . .I'm going to have to say 15 minutes, tops, and that's being generous. It really makes me mad if there is only one lane open.

i'm pretty patient with those types of things. i know i cant control that there are several people in front of me. however, if there were only 1 lane open, then i'd get a little impatient, or if the cashier just moves really really slow... then i'd be bothered.
