Well the Labyrinth is an old movie but it's great, it was directed by Jim Henson, the same person that made "The Muppets" so there is a lot of puppetry in the movie.

If your looking for something new I would suggest A Bugs Life, Ants, School of Rock, A Cinderella Story (if they are mostly girls of course, I don't think boys would really want to watch a sapy love story), Never Been Kissed (another girly movie), Finding Nemo, Ice Age, Toy Story (1 & 2), Shrek (1&2), Monsters Inc., and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Those are all good movies, I gave you kind of a variety because of your mentioning of the age 8+.

I hope that helps. :]
