On the assumption that they were on top form then
Openers as
Sachin-- If he is form... hard to stop... technically Strong and got class.
M Haden--- can hit any ball.
Captain... Ganguli -- knows, how to get from players even they are young and not much experienced.Ganguli lead the team, having only great player Sachin and Rahul in team.
So if he gets best team.. just imagine.
Ponting would be choice but he got best players in team .. like Gilcrist, Hayden, Mcgrath....
He is just behind Ganguli.

Sachin Tendulkar & Saeed Anwar as an opener with Ganguly or W.Akram as a Captain
who can forget S.Anwar, he has got maximum individual 194 runs in an innings in an ODI against India. He holds that record for the last 9 years.

I would look no further than Matthew Haydon and Jayasuira ( Sorry about the spelling!!) I think Stephen Fleming was a good leader, Ponting is also good but has a more talanted side to play with.
