I'd like to get a two-year RN degree, then maybe go for a BSN.
Is there a website or other information/support available for older students interested in nursing?

Absolutely not, My mom wanted to be a nurse all her life, she worked clerical. She saved and saved. She entered nursing school in her 50s. It took alittle longer, but she prevailed. She worked as a rehabilitation nurse for 27 years, and still does PRN work occassionally. She has lived a greater rewarded life, both mentally, and financially. You can be a very productive asset to the ever needed skills of a nurse. You will run into students even teachers that feel your to old. You just ignore them and keep doing your best. You will make it and be much happier for accomplishing it.
I was inspired by my mom, and at age 37 went back to school and got a Bacholors Degree. My dad who had to drop out of high school to support his family when his dad died. Was inspired by my mom, and at age 68 went back to the Jr College and got his GED.
You never know the blessing you give by leading by example reguardless of what other people say, If say if you do not go, you do not know the impact of failure.

I'd say you're never too old to go get your nursing degree - you may even find it easier now, since I'm assuming your kids are out on their own and you have time to dedicate to studying.
Any nursing school that you are considering should have all the info you need available on their website - financial aid info, applying as a "non-traditional" student, how to apply, what to expect, etc. Check out the schools in your area - if their websites don't have this information, think twice about the school. Note that the info may be in another part of the site, like Admissions or Financial Aid.

I'm glad to see you want to do this. I was a lab tech for many years before I enrolled in EMT school at age 33. I've been an EMT now for 3 years and I love it. I'm so glad I made the change. It's never too late. If you think you would enjoy it, by all means, go to nursing school. Medicine is a very rewarding career.

You are NOT too old, but I have a little experience with nurses & the saying is that they "Eat their young". Meaning that often times nurses who have been in the field for a while, try to make life SO hard for the new nurses that they quit. I have heard this can be worse for people entering the field at a higher age. But if you are aware of this, you can take it for what it really is...just a bunch of politics.

Everyone is positive and I don't mean to be negative, but is this just a whim or are you really into it? It is hard work. But it
is rewarding too. If you are physically and mentally healthy
enough then go for it. I Just don't want you to be disappointed if it doesn't work out. So you know yourself better than anyone else. If this is your dream, then get at it.

Oh, heck no, you are not too old. You need to give general info as to what country you are in though.. It will make a big difference as to what school you can attend, degrees, etc.

no. do it! if you go to a university, they usually have a reentry dept. in counseling. by the by, reentry is anyone over 25 who wants to go back or start college.
