A close circuit in the study of electricity means there is a circuit (a deformed circle) containing only conductors (metal, carbon, semiconductors) and a battery. There will be an electrical current in it.

An electric charge can be made to move in a current. An electric circuit allows the flow of electrons from a power source to make a round trip back to the power source. In a series electric circuit, only one path is available for the electrons to flow through. When any part of a series circuit is disconnected, no current can flow through the circuit. This is called an "open" circuit. The electrons require a closed path or they won't move at all.

Close circuit means it allows electricity to flow through it. It is the opposite of open circuit which means that there is a disconnection from the power source to the electrical device.

when referring to an electrical circuit, a closed circuit does mean that electricity has a path to flow through. an open circuit basically means that there is a point within the circuit at which the flow of electricity moves outside of the circuit and back to ground. (remember that electricity always takes the path of least resistance to ground).

Yep. make positive the wall swap is on Off and tape it in position. Pull the plug from the outlet. The circuit is now double useless. the recent disposals reuse the flexibility wire. try the motor after switching over the wire via plugging it right into a unique outlet. do not plug it in lower than the sink till put in and examined for water leaks. If ok then plug in, get rid of the tape and turn the swap.

Sorry Yosh,
Current does not "always" take the path of least resistance.
Current will travel through a circuit based on a ratio of the resistance of all available closed paths. So if i have 2 paths in parallel with a 5V source, one with 10ohm and the other 1ohm, the 10ohm path will see 0.5A while the 1ohm path will see 5A.
"More" current will take the path of least resistance, but not all of it.
