My car has a vehicle 4yr/50K warranty, powertrain 6yr/70k, accessories 4yr/50K warranty, among others. What is covered under these three? And do you think my brakes are covered under any of them...they're squeaky?
Thank you in advance.

Tires, Brakes and Battery are considered normal wear items and may not be covered. But, they would still have their normal warranty. Tires say are 30,000-50,000 miles. Battery may be 3 years and Brakes may be 30,000 miles. I would think a good dealer would honor this.
It hard to really list everything covered under each, but, this an idea.
Vehicle; Bumper coming loose or a door panel fall off, things like that. Maybe electric window stop working.
Power-train; Engine (Not including Spark Plugs and Wires, oil and Filter), Transmission (Not including Fluid or Filter).
Accessories; GPS, Radio those little extra you add on.
Also, Air Conditioner but not Freon.
Now those that I mentioned as "Not", if your engine/transmission started leaking fluid or using it in excess then there another problem that cause this and that be covered. It really can seem confusing. Anytime you are in doubt ask the Dealer Service Department. Be careful though as some will take advantage of the situation. If, you know someone that know a little about cars they may be able to give you some advise as to what need fixed.

The brake pads are not covered, they are considered "normal wear item", just like oil is not covered. However, the brake rotars would be covered under the 4yr/50k warranty. After the 4yr/50k part expires, the powertrain warranty will cover things like the engine and tranmission. It will not cover items like a starter or air conditioner.

No these items are not covered under warranty. I too have a 2006 eclipse with the same warranty belts and plugs are maintenance items.

Except for the brake pads they should be covered. If they are squeaky then chances are its the pads, normal wear, unless your car has less than say 20-50,000 miles (depends on the type of pads that are on it) if it only has say 10,000 miles then they should cover it that would be excessive brake wear.

I doubt the brakes are going to be covered, since they are considered a wear item... the squeak is probably just brake dust..

Brake pads and rotors are not covered because they are a wear item. Brake lines and calipers would be covered.

Wear items are seldom covered except on some luxury cars. I suggest you suggest with the car manufacturer or dealer issuing the policy for full details, as policies are all different, depending on whom they are backed by.
