True/False - The Punisher will be taking up the mantle of Captain America now that Steve Rogers is dead?

It's certainly starting to look that way. It seems that Frank Castle (The Punisher) has always held Steve Rogers (Captain America) in great esteem, even refusing to defend himself when Rogers gave him a disciplinary beating in one issue of the Punisher War Journal. And, it was definitely Castle who retrieved his discarded mask in Civil War #7.
The clincher has to be the cover art released by Marvel last month showing Castle wearing a combination of his usual outfit and elements of the Captain America costume.
Hopefully this does not signify an attempt to combine the characters as the adoration they have earned from their fans has been for very different reasons. Also, its hard to believe that Castle could be so blind to Rogers' disapproval of his methods that he would consider himself a worthy heir. I am hoping that we will simply see Castle's character develop further as a consequence of Rogers' assassination and his attempts to come to terms with the death of a national hero.

In other news; a drunk doctor dressed as Captain America stuffed a burrito down his pants and groped a woman in a bar in Melbourne, Fla.

I wonder which of these stories is more likely to anger the ghost of the late, great Captain America?

I doubt that'll happen. Frank Castle does consider Steve Rogers as an idol and a friend even though their approaches are vastly differently, but I don't think he would don the mask. He probably would think it as desecration to the Captain's memory and ideals. Someone else will take up the mantle...though I suspect Steve Rogers might not be as dead as the world believes. Remember, it has happened before.
