Pimp is a male person who manages prostitutes.
Pimping as a slang word also refers to a man who dresses themselves flamboyantly (as pimps supposedly do).
If you do up your car in a similar way, it is called, pimping up your ride.
The female equivalent of a Pimp is a Madame (pronounced the french way) probably coming from the book Fanny Hill.

A pimp is someone who is the boss of women who do sexual acts for money. The pimp then collects the money from these women, who are called "Prostitutes" or "hookers". If someone uses the word "pimpin" it could also mean "cool", like "that car is pimpin".
