They would be funner if I was little again. It was like a roller coaster then! When you are little it wasn't like we had a lot to do anyways.

well they tried a cliff first and to many children suffered broken legs and necks. so someone ask what can children play on that they go down,then run up the stairs, and just go down again, and they repeat this over and over that doesn't brake their legs and necks.as an answer to that question someone invented the slide and I do have to admit that a slide is better for children to play on than a cliff.

Hey, for a kid, they are EXCITING ... that work, a quick and fast ride down (on your rear -- and if you put a tear in the seat of your pants -- all the better!), when you 'splash down' into the water (or big, wet mud pile), etc etc etc.
BUT .. when you become a student or adult, the "Slide" (as in Slide Rule -- you know, the device we all learned how to use BEFORE Calculators), that is when we KNOW that we have calculating work to do!
