I am a Pennsylvania Republican but I voted for John Casey(Democrat) because Rick Santorum was going too far to the right for me. When they won the two houses, I remember all the celebrations they had all over the country that huge changes were coming. I remember watching the night they got sworn in and watching Nancy Pelosi promise to "work with" the president. I have been watching the news everyday since then and all it seems like they have accomplished is raising the minimum wage. It seems like the last 3.5 months, all they have been busy doing is writing a bill that they knew the president would veto just to "prove a point" But "proving a point" doesn't change anything. And how is writing a bill that they knew the president would veto "working with?" I wanted to improve the situation in Iraq and I though that voting differently would maybe change things but now it just seems like everyone is acting like little kids dragging their feet to prevent anything from getting done.

Is there other things that have been passed that the media isn't telling us about?

Espreses. I am not gullable. I care about this country and the main reason I voted for Casey over Santorum was because I thought Santorum was getting way to Christian for America. I am a christian too, but I believe I should live by my own morals and not tell other people how to live. That why I believe in seperation of church and state. Why does everyone constantly refer to Iraq. there was so much more to that last election that Dems promised(Improve healthcare, education, etc etc) I am not just talking about Iraq. please tell me if they have done something domestically other than raise the minumum wage.

Actually Matt, thats not true. I didn't vote a Dem into the senate for leadership. I did that when I voted Bush in for president. The President is the commander in chief. I did get duped when the Dems said they were going to make all these domestic changes but instead are trying to take the commander in chief role away from the president which I think is a much worst violation of the constituion than anything the patiot act has done.

I don't know where you have been for the last seven years. The democrats have openly vowed to do everything in their power to discredit and undermine this president because they believe he stole the election. That is all they have been doing since before Bush was inaugurated.

As Governor of Texas, Bush had a great deal of success by going out of his way to reach out to the Texas democrats and including them as much as possible. By working together much was accomplished in Texas.

He has done the same thing since arriving in Washington. He has reached out to the democrats in every way possible. Heck, he let Ted Kennedy write the "No Child Left Behind" Education Bill. For his efforts he has received nothing but insults and humiliation.

Now weak republicans like you have rewarded the democrats for their efforts to distinctly NOT work with the republicans no matter what. Did you not notice how they turned their backs on Joe Lieberman? He was their Vice-Presidential nominee for crying out loud. But because he refused to undermine the presidents war effort the democrats threw him under the bus, too.

If not for republicans rescuing him Lieberman would be out of a job. There is nothing today's democratic party has to say that will benefit America in any way at all. Yet you bought it.

Please get your head screwed on straight. Santorum was a fantastic Senator and he did not deserve to loose his job because he has strong religious beliefs. He was doing absolutely nothing to violate the Establishment clause of the Constitution. You were just looking for an excuse not to vote for him. I don't know what motovates you moderates, I really don't.

That is the problem the dems are going to have. It is 1994 all over again. In '94 not too many people were happy with the dems and Clinton, so the cons took the house, Gingrich promised all these changes, great things. Over the next 2 years that never happened and everyone was critical of the coms, so they kept Clinton in office. If the dems aren't careful the same thing will happen again. If a year from now Pelosi and the house have done nothing, the Republicans can point to that in the presidential election.

The change is already in the works! Didnt you notice the unemployment rates, the foreclosures and the taxes going up? Just wait until phase two, the concentration camps!

PS When it comes to "personally" living morals, that is not feasable. When a government says that it is not alright to kill people arbitrarily, that it is not alright to steal, and so on, those are not "personal" morals. Morals are to be legislated by the government, that is why there IS government. I would much rather have the government legislate Christian morals which emphasize the sacredness of human life, the importance of the individual over the state, and personal responsibility, rather than the secularist socialist "morals" which have resulted in the deaths of millions, not to mention untold suffering. Christians need to stand up and quit being such wimps.

For starters the minimum wage increase was a good thing, not enough mind you with the cost of living today but a move in the right direction, also as you are all well aware , with all the red tape and paper pushing that goes on in Washington I'm amazed that the minimum wage increase went through this fast . It takes time for changes to kick in ,give it time people, GW has had almost 8 years to create all this damage, 3.5 months is hardly enough time to undo it all, be patient.

Unemployment is a continuation of what happened during the previous administration. Unemployment has always been a lagging indicator. A better way to look at it was how fast Bush got jobs going after the recession handed to him by Clinton and how Obama got jobs going after the recession ended Bush gave him. Obama got jobs going a year sooner. Bush took 18 months. Obama took about 5 months.

The change to the new minimum wage has been nice. Maybe is you are seeking "change" for the sake of change you can get someone like Newt Gingrich. I was going to vote for him until I found out he doesn't believe in govt regulating the price of housing. The Section 8 program would be kaput and so would seniors living in subsidized dwellings. Should we all live in tents like him?

I don't believe you're a Republican. If you are. it's the RINOs that cost us the last election, and you my friend got duped. You sound like a reasonable person. Voting for a Democrat in this last election was voting for the Nancy Pelosi/Harry Reid leadership. It was not a vote for a change in the Iraq War. They used that ruse to gain power. Vote your conscience, but there was a clear choice as far as who you wanted to lead this country. In my opinion, these Democrats are vile. They're invested in our defeat. They are embarrassing our country. They are disrespecting our soldiers. I think it's disgusting.

you´re right... i can´t really say i´m 100% republican or 100% democrate.. its more of a 50/50 thing... it´s hard for me to state my position on a subject before actually hearing the subject... but there is one thing i´ve noticed about all these dem´s, one of the only things they´re good at doing is critisize..... and they never offer solutions, only "you´re doing it all wrong"

i am pretty upset with the way congress is delaying on this war bill... if the gard dawn troops need something give it to them for christs sake! why the delay....?? it seems like they want us to lose this iraq war just to make the rep´s look bad.....because they know if we win, and if things are going good, a dem wouldn´t have the best of chances in the pres. race.....

its sickening.... they all claim they support the troops, but when the troops need something... they have to play by thier rules

Democrats don't lean across the party lines they just try to play that game to get you to completely agree with them. If you do not completely agree with them then you are a NAZI or something like that.

I can't wait until the tax cuts that stimulated the economy are allowed to die under their rule people will lose their homes and all kinda nifty stuff.

We will be made to suffer for being economically beneficial to our self's VS. them just wait.

Also gas is higher due to their clean air laws to the tune of about 30 cents, but they will say it's Bush's war.

They are just lying bast****.
