You would most likely have to contact either the agent for that artist or their management company. I'm usre you can find that information on that person's website. Usually the listing agent is posted somewhere and you can than look that company up on line. Most agents are listed out of NYC or LA. But not only do you have to ask the agent to contact the talent, you then have to appeal to that talent's needs. Is this event something that they would do? I'm not sure you'd be able to get an A-list star without some heavy media coverage. Can you promise that news crews will cover the event if a big celebrity should appear? These are the things that the agent will want to know. Remember, most celebrities won't do fund raisers without some sort of recognition. Unfortuntely, for most, its more about getting their names out there than honest charity work.

Good luck!!!

Tough call, but first, to be realisitic, you would need to find a lesser known celeb, one that is not currently in the limelight and desperate for attention, and ask them to appear for free to promote your cause and bring publicity on themselves.

Celebs are not only just like anyone else, but usually more starved and hungry for attention than your average person; if you write enough letters ahead of time to those that may fit the profile, you have a better chance of finding someone.

Perhaps you can find out the celeb's latest project and write to him or her in care of (c/o) the company that last dealt with that person. If they were a guest star on leno, for ex, perhaps writing in c/o the leno show or if the celeb's latest cd/record is in stores, perhaps you can look at the address of the record company that produced it.

Try to find out the agent who represents them and contact through them.
