It's a concept discussed in George Orwell's "1984."

It's called "Doublespeak" and it's the ability to espouse a certain "belief" while holding the opposite belief at the same time.

Republicans have perfected it to an artform.

So under your last Government allowing millions to die in a foreign country you would call peaceful, also in the Middle East. hmmmmm!!!!
Even the Bible advocates war, standing up for those in need. There is Spiritual warfare going on as we speak. As Christ is all powerful, all mighty he could end that or never let it happen, but the time is not now.
Perhaps you need to read Revelations & see about the wars & battles to come. Your statement is an outright fallacy.

It's not that republicans hate peace, its that conservatives have, in the past, been more ready to go to war than the liberals have. Going to war is not hatting peace. Many times, war is necessary for peace (just not in recent times). Also, not all republicans follow Christ, AND most liberals DO follow Christ. Religion doesnt define your political posistion.

btw, Susi; I dont know if you know this...but...Hussein died a couple of months ago. He isn't really in much of a position of power any more...nor is his government.

No one hates peace, but smarter people realize that peace is something you earn in this world. It would be nice to sit around and just wish that everyone in the world would be peaceful, but again, smart people know that just isn't the case. So, sometimes you have to fight to preserve peace. If a bully is beating up the same kid everyday, does not fighting work? No, but if he challenges the bully just once, he more than likely preserves peace. Grow up!

Peace on who's terms. The absence of war is not peace, just ask the North Koreans.

I haven't seen Republicans say they "follow Christ but hate peace." Those are your words. Prove they are true.

I happen to be a Christian, so I will go out on a limb here and say that you know nothing about either Jesus or true peace.

I don't say I follow Christ.

I define peace not to mean the absence of violence but to mean justice and equality in liberty.

Why do Dimocrats say they only want to help people but empower murderous tyrrants like Stalin, Pol Pot and Hitler and do nothing to confront evil.

We value peace. Peace can only come from victory over evil. And if you think Bush is evil, your head needs to be dislodged from you anal cavity.
