yes I use to do it when I was a child,but my mom stopped me at a very young age.There is a difference in animals doing it then we as people just picture everybody eating a a restaurant eating and have enjoyed a good meal and we all with our plates up to our faces licking the remainder of our food that would not look to good for us as humans maybe an animal.

LOL...I think it may be a compliment to the lady ONLY if you don't do it in front of her...but like you tell her the next day that her food was so good that you "wanted" to lick the plate...ha ha ha ha. But be clear to mention that "you didn't" lick it.

Well, at home it's fine. Just did it last week, forget what I cooked, but honestly, I licked the plate - much to the joy of my husband, since I'm usually the very conservative one!
