From the USA - my guess would be Canada, but my wish would be the U.K. Legally, our laws are still based on those founded in England centuries ago.

There are similarities between the U.S. and Canada, but the States are much more prudish than just about any other comparable country. The fact that some shows on BBC America are edited for content/language is a clue to that fact. :-/

I would imagine that Canada would be most similar. Many former Americans moved there during the Viet Nam war. One hundred years earlier, slaves from the south escaped to Canada via the underground railroad.

But aside from all that, they can pick up our TV and radio stations. Americans visit frequently. Niagara Falls Canadian side is more desirable than the American side.

For me, I like the fact that there are FAR fewer lunatics running around with guns ready to shoot the first person that looks at them. When I last visited, which was about 10 years ago, I felt exceptionally safe on the streets at night. People seem to respect each other more in Canada.

So it's kind of like the US but without all the violence. I'm from the US, of course. The principals of schools in this area are learning how to handle guns and will most likely be armed soon to protect themselves from the kids!!!!

GOOD GRIEF!

today there are so many multi cultural countries.....
i am english and live in germany
i have travelled the world (as a merchant seaman)

as i am from the states
i have to say that i am unfamiliar with any other cultures.

BUT based on the limited information i do have, i would say
probably england.

even though they drive on the left, and spell words wrong, and well, i don't always get their jokes...

...and in terms of culture...they might know a little bit more about the world, and things like under-indulgence, and maybe they don't have the mc donald's menu memorized....

but let's face it...they've really wanted to be like us ever since we saved their arses in "dubbya dubbya two".

In in the US, and I suspect that Canada and most of western Europe is culturally similar to my own.

Not identical, mind you, but similar.
