Holy Crap, it is only 20...TWENTY!!!... games into the season and all of my fellow Cubs fans are already packing it up and looking to next season. It's ridiculous. My God. I mean I know we say "Wait 'til next year!" Often but this is just ridiculous. He was signed for the power, speed, agility, and defense. And just because he was out for five games and hasn't hit a home run yet must automatically mean that the Cub faithful should pack in the season and move on to next year. Its bull$#!t...He was brought in because he is a five-tool player who can steal bases, score runs, hit home runs, and play some pretty good defense. But apparently, since he is now a member of the Cubs, he is now an injured waste of a player and of 136 million dollars. He is an all-star MVP, he is the fastest man in baseball history to reach 200 HR and 200 stolen bases. He is one of four members to be in the 40-40 club (40 HR and 40 SB in one season.) and he also is the only member of the 40-40-40 club (HR's, SB's, and doubles.) But I guess since is only twenty...TWENTY....games into the season and he still hasn't hit a HR, has only one stolen base, and has been injured for five games, I guess its time to start looking forward to next season....I, for one, being a Cubs fan, will not give up on this season until September 30th...when we will hopefully be celebrating a post-season birth.

They signed him because he's a good hitter and is good at stealing bases. Injuries are a part of the game and can happen to anybody at anytime. He's normally pretty healthy so for him to be on the disabled list is kind of shocking. Anyway I think that he'll bounce back when he gets back form the disabled list. The reason why as well that he might be struggling is because he's new to the Chicago Cubs and there's a lot of pressure on him as he was a big free agent signing especially with the expectations for the Cubs this year.

I guess the crystal ball was broken the day they signed him. How else can you explain them not knowing he would be injured?
The Cubbies got him because Soriano is one of the best young players in the league. He's versatile, able to play pretty much any position on the field, and he's a potential 40-40 guy. His clubhouse demeanor, from what I understand, has improved dramatically over the last couple of years. He's an asset on almost any team, and the franchise's decision to pick him up will definitely pay off in the long run. Remember, this is April. How many playoff games have you seen won in April?

The Cubs wanted a leadoff man who possess power as well as speed in the upper part of their lineup . They considered him a triple crown threat if he cuts down on his strikeouts. They liked Juan Pierre but once Soriano was penned by the Cubs, he became expendable. The Dodgers also got a great pick here in getting Pierre.

In addition to being off to a slow start he may be pressing a little. He just signed a huge contract and he is expected to produce. He needs to relax and let the game come to him in all due time.

Because he does bring value to the team. He is an excellent player. But he can not do all by himself. It defiantly will bring fans to the ball park.

They failed to realize that last season was a contract year so they overpaid thinking he would solve all of their problems.
