it was too weird, but it was not totally CG....it was Matt Frewer in a latex head suit

Max Headroom was an 80's classic, much better than the usual rubbish on the TV (A Team, Air wolf, Miami Vice). If it had one problem it was that it was to advanced for its time. Maybe if it was produced now it would be better received.
By the way did you see the first episode where it explained how the story started?

Sci-Fi has never really gone over very well with the masses. It wasn't a bad show - but when it was on air (1987) it was lost amongst "mega-hits" such as Kate and Allie and The Golden Girls. Your Grandma wasn't going to watch an "ahead of it's time ,cyberpunk show" with that "weird guy" from the Coca-Cola commercials.

Headroom was too cerebral for the average schmuck. Great show, miss it!

I think the show was abysmally bad, as were ratings. I liked it! But then, I was a kid.

I remember this show when I was a kid. I really liked it, that was probably why it got bad ratings. It didn't appeal to the adult genre, more to the kids.
