im thinking about going out of state this summer and i dont think my parents are going to like it. in fact, theyre going to be terrified. this is something i really want to do though. im 18 yrs old.
do i do what i want to do or stay home because my parents want me to?

Do you live at home? Are they providing for all your needs such as food, clothing, doctor/dentist? If you support yourself then I say go and have a great time. If you are still denpendant upon them for your every need, then you should have some respect for their wishes. If you could just sit down and talk to them as an adult without being mean, hateful or pushing your views too hard, that would be a start in the right direction. Good luck!

Eighteen sounds about right, but everyone is different. We all mature at different rates.
I'm impressed that you care what your parents think, though. A lot of kids would just go and not care. Thank you for that. I think that if you are mature enough to care what they think then you should sit down and discuss this with them.

if your old enough to move out, you can go out of the state hun. you're 18 you can do whatever you want. i started making my own decisions at 15. do what you want to do. they have no control over you now, you're an adult.

As soon as I quit accepting money from my parents I started doing my own thing.
If you are expecting your parents to finance this trip, you better listen to them.

Well, I shaved my legs for the first time when I was 10 and didn't ask permission, either. When my mom found out she said I was gonna regret starting so soon...now I believe her!! LOL
