the article says the distance would be 20.5 light years, which makes it pretty hilarious that its considered "close", but its all relative i guess. so what would the logistics be of having a manned space flight that far away? how far away can a ship maintain communication with Earth? the ship would have to have a ridiculous amount of supplies, and at least one medical doctor. how many generations would 20.5 light years come to, like 12 or something ridiculous like that? there'd have to be male and female astronauts obviously. hmmm . . i wonder what weightless f***ing is like? and i wonder if that crazed yet fairly hot diaper-wearing cross-country driving psychonaut got busy when she was up there. it really makes ya think.

Close is a relative term. There are billions of stars, but most are MUCH more distant than 20 light years.

Manned travel to any other star is just totally out of the question for us now. Our technology is no more capable of taking us to another star than the technology of Columbus was of taking him to the Moon.

Maybe someday, far in the future, but not in your lifetime.

When they can get there in a couple of hours, so I can be back for dinner, I go.
