One of the best - the youngest player in the '66 World Cupp winning squad.
Plus he managed Portsmouth and Southampton - and the fans of both teams love him.

I must admit I was surprised to hear how good his goalscoring record was.
Being only in my 30s I only really known Alan as a Football Manager and can't comment about his playing ability.
But, regardless of his record as a player or as a manager, what is nice is to hear all the tributes from other sports too - particularly his involvement in Horse Racing.
He was obviously a great person.

Very sad indeed. Some of today's pampered idiots could learn a thing or two from a man who was truly successful.
I find it sad that he ended up having to sell his winners' medal from 1966 to make ends meet. He got £140,000 for it. It's frightening to think the majority of today's underachievers earn that in a matter of weeks or less.

it does not quite disturb me.. why? becoz perhaps it quite is the sole factor the others understand her as.. once you spot a photograph of a lifeless individual..it quite is the sole factor you are able to understand approximately her besides.. e.g a pleasing actress died at a youthful age..human beings could say "oh how unhappy, she is so quite.."..if a no longer so quite actress died, there are continually the different good factors that are being raised. yet no person quite stated as no remember if it quite is superb that they died. what i'm attempting to assert right it is, some all people is over-rated as quite or bodily pleasing (even with each and each of the ask your self surgical procedures, botoxc and so forth).. some quite women who died and are unknowns, are in simple terms time-honored to the generic public via their looks..if she has some strategies, there can be different "oh pricey, she is that the variety of superb woman" or "oh she is that the variety of brainy student"..

you go to put out a fire in your garden and end up dying of a heart attack, it's dreadful. happens too often unfortunately. i'm too young to know him as a player but he must have been good to captain the 1966 squad.
