How do manatees relate to florida? My daughter has a project and we have been reearching and can not seem to come up with anything.

The only thing that we have found is that manatees relate to the boaters violations. However, there has to be something else.

They are an endangered mammal that lives in the canals of South Florida. They just drift around eating aquatic weeds and don't realize they should get out of the way of some idiot boater who drives right over them and gashes their backs with his propeller.

They are large, peaceful walrus-like creatures that many people think were the original "sirens" that lured sailors to crash on the shores pursuing those "mermaids"

The manatee have been native to Florida for a long time. There are records of native peoples of Florida hunting and eating manatee from thousands of years ago.
