In France they are looking for a New Person to Model for Marianne, In the past Bridget Bardot and Catherine Deneuve among others have Modelled for Marianne. It is different and unique not Tacky like a lot of Showbusiness Style names that a lot of People are picking for there Children .

Don 't regret this name choice, this is a beautiful name. Names that are currently trendy, popular, or fashionable will sound dated in about 20 years. A name like Marianne will always be beautiful and timeless. You did an excellent job naming your daughter.

It's a very pretty name. Don't worry about what sounds "fashionable" because it gets old when everyone starts naming their children the same thing. Name her that because you love the name, not that it's on the top of the most popular names list. Marianne is a 'classic' name that will never seem like a fad name like naming your little girl Ralston, Montgomery or Chadsworth....you know what I'm talking about.

Marianne is a beautiful classic name. Personally I would prefer something that sounded beautiful and elegant over something that was popular for a minute. Remember that she has to have the same name when she's an adult. You don't just name a baby, you name a person. I think you made a wonderful choice and she'll be appreciative when she's older that she has a beautiful name and not something like "Apple".

There is nothing wrong with the name of Marianne. It is not that bad of a name. I know someone named Marianne. Her name is spelled differently. I do like that name.

Marianne is a lovely name. It doesn't have to be popular or fashionable. It's still unique.

That's true it isn't popular according to today's standards, yet it's very quaint and hasn't been used in a long time. A breath of fresh air amongest all of those Jayda(s) and the rest of those modern names, which I like, still it's good to see something quaint like that. Perhaps if she lacks a middle name you could give here one and use Marianne as her first name only.

I wanted my eldest to be called Marianne with the nickname Marnie but husband wanted Jennifer. In fact now I love both names because they are not over populated! Unlike my second and third (actually even fourth's!!) names. I loved my name it was one of a kind!

I like it. You shouldn't worry about giving your daughter a fashionable name because what's in fashion now maybe out of fashion and extremely silly in a few years. You should opt for a classic name and Marianne is one.

I love it. It's a name I'd pick for myself particularly cos it's old-fashioned. I also like the variants in spelling - Mary-anne, Marion, Marian, but my favourite is still Marianne.
