I would feel very guilty if I ever did that giggles. I have come close to hitting animals many times. It's not your fault, but It can ruin ones day real easily.(hugs).

I'm sorry. I would cry too if I hit a cute little squirrel.
But to answer your question: yes, and it was so gross! I was driving to work one day and there were two mockingbirds in the road. Apparently they were deaf and couldn't hear my truck because they just sat there for the longest. I got maybe 20 feet away and they finally began to fly off. However, the second bird wasn't very quick and hit the windshield of my truck. Feathers and gross sticky stuff stuck to my windshield! I cried my little heart out! I felt so bad! I had to stop by a gas station to clean everything off and a nice gentleman helped me when he saw how upset I was.
Cheer up, it happens to everyone!

I have hit a raccoon, a possum, a rabbit, and when I hit the rabbit I got out of the car like I did with the others, to make sure it was dead. I walked over to it and it was very hurt and bleeding , but not dead, so I went back to the car and grabbed my mag light which is metal and heavy and killed it. That was the only time I really showed any emotion for hitting an animal, I didn't want to kill it, but I felt that it was the humane thing to do...sniff sniff. This was about 4 years ago.

Yes I hate it.

Last year I was heading out to work early one morning... went around a corner and hit a kangaroo. I stopped and the poor thing was gone, then I drove away shaking and a few kilometers down the road I clean up a rabbit. Two in one day....... I have not hit anything since, thank god.

One day...a squirrel crossed right infront of the car while I was doing about 45mph....I stopped...and put my hand up and shouting.."run squirrel RUN"...my husband thought I was nuts...but..yes one day I hit a bird...I felt AWFUL....but I did get out the car one day a push a turtle out of the street....so no one could hit him :). Don't be upset....you could of crashed trying to save the little guy....think of the geico commercial where they high five each other when the wagon goes off the road...I think they do it on purpose.."squirrels"

I ran over a tiny dog once....a person opened the door to their house and the little thing bolted out the door and into the road.

i slammed on my brakes but i didn't stop in time and ran the little thing over. I felt bad for a few minutes but then i realized i did nothing wrong. I was just in an unfortunate situation

Yes I have. God it's a horrid feeling. I ran over a rabbit once and cried for hours. Yesterday I almost hit a squirrel. I'd hate for anyone to be behind me when that stuff happens coz I'm all over the road trying to save them.. UGH!

I feel your pain.

I was driving my daddy's truck one time I was like sixteen and a Mommy Deer and her baby ran out in front of me and I thought I missed them because when I looked through my rearview mirror the Mommy was still standing there but I didn't see the baby, but when I got to my friend's house her Dad was like "HOLY ****" and looked and the baby had gone under the truck and got caught on something and I had drug it about ten miles like that. I didn't feel it hit because it went right between my tires until it got hooked on something at the very end.

I might slow down for a squirrel but I don't slam on my brakes to avoid it. I can't figure out why they have to cross the road anyway. Isn't there enough food on the side they are on? I have stopped for moose and deer though because they do serious damage to cars.
