Just wear old beaters over your suit. Or do what my kids do and wear a chick's suit over your suit (okay then haha!)
The material doesn't matter too much because though there is a differenc ein resistence between nylon and mesh it is balances by the flow of water around the material. Mesh grabs more water and creates more resistence while nylon deflects more water and causes more ripples. It's equal.
Good luck!

mesh... ive had many drag suits, and they come and go like none other, but i still have my mesh suits from 4 years ago, and still use them. all the other fabrics fade and tear easily with the exposure to chlorine, so i would definatly go with the mesh. good quality suits.

Wear an old girl's suit; this will add a nice amount of drag. I don't think its weird; I've seen several swim teams have their guys do this.

I good drag queen should always wear at least a few sequins. So maybe a mesh dress with sequins and some thigh high nylons.

Why wear a drag suit at all - you are just training yourself to swim slow with a drag suit on! I'd say it's better to practice swimming fast.

You can buy any of those drag suits.
I usually wear shorts or a shirt for drag.
