Yes, he is still pitching for the Yanks. Joe Torre is limiting Farnsworth's innings this year so as to avoid the back spasms he suffered from last season. Joe has said that he will not use Farnsworth in back to back games. Joe does not want to have him placed on the DL, even more so with injuries ravaging the rotation.

In a manner of speaking, yes, he does still "play" for the Yanks. But he hasn't exactly been on the mound much. Their bullpen is so bad (with the exception of Rivera -- and even he is struggling a little) that Torre has tried to avoid certain people in certain circumstances. Which means not playing Farns.
