While their early season pace is impressive, I don't see them winning a race this year. I don't think there will be a race where Heidfeld is able to beat both Ferraris and both McLarens.

BMW are doing quite well this year. I didn't quite expect them to be racing the McLarens and Ferraris. Instead it's renault who are not doing too great, unfortunately. H\opefully, things will be better for them.
I'd say BMW have achieved their aim so far. They've already got on the podium and I'm sure the next step they want to take is at the top step of the podium. For now, their car looks quite good and you can expect them to be challenging for the win and maybe the championship? Who knows.
However, they still have a few issues to iron out to achieve their target. First, they hafve to fix whatever is wrong with Kubica's car. Heildfeld's seems to be ok but somehow Kubica has had lots of problems this season.
Next, their car has to be reliable. A good car this year doesn't mean next year's car will be good as well. The drivers also have to be focused and performing their best. No problems there I suppose.
Things are looking great for BMW now. If they can maintain their form and perfect their winning formula, they'll be a force to reckon with. Even now, they should be taken seriously. Very seriously

That's a question best saved until the European swing of the championship starts. With the teams near their home bases, it allows for the better teams to enact changes and improvements to their cars in a rapid fashion. The team that adapts their cars faster and more effectively throughout the year will win races and championships.
BMW's pace has been decent this year but it's nowhere close to having the pace to win races. In addition, their reliability is still suspect.
They may finish third in the Constructor's championship, but the drop off from the top two teams is so much, that it almost doesn't matter - except when it comes to the money they receive from the FIA at the end of the year.

They are definitely looking good and very competitive this year. However, it's only been three races so it's important to see if they can maintain their form.
They could possibly win a race this year- seeing that Nick Heidfeld is performing very well indeed. His teammate Robert Kubica was quite impressive last year as a rookie, but for some reason, he seems to be fading away this year. Heidfeld's constantly outperforming him so he has to try beating him.
However, I believe the team can earn lots of points just from Heidfeld. Heidfeld was never really regarded as one of the best drivers in F1 although at the beginning he was quite good. So, this year is the chance for him to shine.

The German team has performed much better than expected. Nick Heidfeld's pass on Fernando Alonso in Bahrain will have given a huge boost of confidence to the team. They can only improve from here.

i love it, it is so refreshing to see and new team charging to the front, its just a shame that williams, renault and honda had to trip and fall for it to happen, who knows maybe next year with the customer cars we will have more teams close enough to sink some teeth ferraris tail
