Karen and Richard Carpenter were one of the great duos of modern music which unfortunately ended with the early demise of Karen .My favorite song was " We have only just begun to live"

They were a very talented brother sister duo. Richard Carpenter was a master arranger and innovator of the "overdubbing" technique. Karen Carpenter had the most gorgeous singing voice. Her untimely death from Anorexia was a shame.

My favorite song of theirs is "Superstar."

Oh man, go to Amazon or wherever and get a listing of tracks on their compliation albums. You know, "The Best of The Carpenters" or whatever.

They were HUGE in their day, so popular. Their music is often very melancholy though, so it may actually bring folks down more.

They were one of my favorite groups in the 70's. They became famous for a commercial with the song wev'e only just begun. It was for a bank and featured a newlywed couple getting their first joint account and moving into their new house. The song became so huge that it launched their career.
My favorite song is 'Top of the world'

I like Karen's song: 'why do birds'. I often think of it or hum it. Just a nice song by a nice girl, sort of thing.
