Extremely expensive.

However places such as universities will often scan something for you for a bit of money. I know of at least one place in the UK where you can get them to scan something if you pay them. I'm not sure if its a scanning or transmission microscope, I'd guess that having something transmission scanned would be more expensive due to the thin slices they would have to make.

I was curious about this some months ago and found that you can buy one on eBay. Anyway it was interesting to see the asking prices.
