often these kind of equations arise when we describe real-world behaviour. Actually, many of the equations that help us model the behaviour of the world around us are a little more complicated. In order to tackle these kinds of problems, (which arise in areas like financial maths, cryptography, construction, economic modelling, etc. etc. ) we need to start of with less interesting ones so that we can develop good problem solving skills.
Just try your best and don't get dispirited. You don't know where you're future lies yet ... you may well need the skills you're learning now.

There is nothing particularly special about this equation, but is important to learn how variable and numbers can relate to form an equation.. and, of course, it is critical that we be able to write equations to represent real-world incidences.. so that we may study them and understand them .. and improve the world we live in.

To learn how to figure out mathematical problems such as that, helps a person develop problem solving skills in general. Perhaps how to "think out of the box" so to say.....

to solve problems in real life, where sometimes we know some variable, and we have a constant to make up a mathematical equations in order to solve the problems.because in real life, there are so many things can become a variable..using mathematical equations is the best way to solve many kinds of problems.

You don't "learn" it, you solve it.
And it's to waste your time so old farts like GW Bush can rule the world, while young people are to busy with homework.
