It is because of the unstable environment with your wife, and the alcohol, the combination of abuse and alcohol can be deadly.
You need your loved ones right now. You should open up to them tell them everything. They can only help you if you ask them.
We all have mood swings from time to time, don't we? But when they control us is when we need someone that loves us powerfully to help us through.
Maybe you need to also find God within your heart and ask him to lead you to the path of healing.
God Bless Don.

Try to train yourself mentally to be more rational and less impulsive..meaning.. take the time to think about things from several opposing perspectives before you think or act.
Change your lifestyle to remove the unnecessary stress from your life.. eat better.. sleep more.. exercize regularly.. find some kind of hobby or interest to keep your mind occupied with.
And.. if that doesn't do the trick.. any psychiatrist in the world will throw a couple darts at the board on the back of his door, label you with some kind of mysterious affliction and pump you full of mysterious chemicals that alter your brain until you see life in a way that suits you better. But, that is usually taking the easy way out.
Most mood swings are merely a natural reaction to what you are subjecting yourself to. If they are extreme, that would be an indication that you have a rather chaotic life. It might be time to tone it down and learn to relax a little. Might take a lot of little changes.. Might take some big ones.. but something has to change..

Could be many different things. If you are under a lot of stress at work or in your personal life it could be causing these mood swings. It could also be something more severe like bipolar disorder which can be managed well with medication. You should talk to your Doctor about these feelings and don;t let them ruin your days. Feel better.

You need good, trusted friends to help you to be more sociable and more positive about your outlook. Don't dwell within your own negativity, open your life up to others the best way you know how, also try to get into a group therapy program. Many hospitals--free and on an outpatient basis--have programs that you can enter and be with others while discussing your problems and feelings.

Well i'm not a doctor, but i am a corpsman. (if you are a civilian that is military for unofficial doctor) your mood is affected by everything; sleeping habits, eating habits, alcohol drugs, work, relationdhips... the list goes on. so the short and sweet answer is find the things you do in excess and moderate them.
