There's a section of men that get a buzz from taking a womans virginity. It cant ever be right because there's only ever one "first time" and you have to live with that for the rest of your life.
But then if doing it improves your whole life ie some will sell their virginity for thousands to put themselves through university, an opportunity that they wouldn't otherwise have had then perhaps its worth it to them.
Its no more morally acceptable than prostitution and yes it probably does harm your dignity for a while but then we're talking about grown adults here who are capable of making their own decisions and also capable of saying no.

It is not morally acceptable, in my point of view. No matter the circumstances. Excuses such as "it's the only job i am fit to do" and other silly excuses do not make up for the fact that it is the most degrading job ever! Of course it is causing harm to human dignity... A sane person with high morals, with high self-worth will >NEVER< associate such things with 'morality'.
Only the weak and the sick can see something like this being 'morally acceptable' in my opinion... but I'm sure this includes many, many people as this world is turning into a highly sexual place..

Morally acceptable, probably not, virginity shouldn't be up for sale even if the girl is willing; in the first place the sex trade is swathed in immorality.
But I don't think it harms the human dignity if the girl wants to. It's her body. Just cos she doesn't value her virginity as much as we think she should doesn't mean it harms human dignity.

Morals are imaginary unless you make them real. Behavior that is possible is acceptable if one is willing to take the risk. You say items shouldn't be stolen from people who work for what they have. but does the thief not work too to get what they want? Society places a punishment on the act so they risk much to gain what they want, and a good thief plans and takes time to get it right. Much like someone would put time into a day at work. The gains are sometimes much greater than a days work but then again some people get paid thousands of dollars for a 8 hour shift.

I dont personally see what the harm is as long as both parties are consenting.
Athletes sell their body for playing sports for other peoples entertainment.
Models sell their body for photographs for other peoples entertainment.
Virginity is only special because society says it is. Its only the first time you do something that you're probably going to do lots more of.

You mean like when someone sells their virginity on eBay? Sounds like a strange practice, one which I would not participate in. If others want to, though, that's their business. (I'm a libertarian.)

What an utterly despicable thing to do. Most of the time, in the third world, it just amounts to flesh trade... Terrible on young girls and women...:(
