The fungus is a good guess, but is controversial, an Aspen tree which has large number of genetically identical trunks connected to common root system seems the most likely candidate. For an obviously single individual it is a Giant Sequoia (close to 10 times the mass of a blue whale), The blue whale is however the largest single animal, the great barrier reef is millions and millions of separate animals stuck together

The largest single living organism by mass would be a giant sequoia tree in california (giant red wood).
The largest specimen, the General Sherman Tree in Sequoia National Park, is 84 m (275 ft) tall, 11 m (36y ft) in diameter above the flaring base, and is estimated to weigh about 1,950 tonnes. Other trees range from 46 to 99 m (150 to 325 ft) in height, with diameters up to 9 m (30 ft). A count of annual rings on stumps has verified ages as great as 2,300 years. Some living trees, however, are believed to be close to 4,000 years old.

A Blue Whale (Balaenoptera musculus) is the largest living creature on the planet.
Some of it arteries are so wide a human can swim down them. Blue Whales grow up to about 140 feet in length and weigh well over 120 tonnes. They feed on Krill, which they filter from the water using brush like filters. An adult Blue Whale can eat up to 2 tonnes of Krill a day.
Blue Whales are totally harmless and roam the oceans with no enemies except humans.

It may be the Great Barrier Reef
On land its probably a giant redwood tree somewhere in north america.
Oh yeah I heard about the big fungus in the Amazon thats the size of a small country. Sounds a bit dodgy to me.
