It is easier, and smater to get the job first and then the company will assist in getting the visa. Companies are each alotted a certain number of visas for international employees, like DOW chemical.

The harder, but more common way is to enter the U.S., is as a student and then abuse the system from inside.

Just fly into Mexico and walk across the Rio Grande river then you can hitch a ride to some northern city. So long as you are not a Mexican, the INS will catch and release you and, probably, give you bus money and a meal before sending you on.

I would recommend that you search for a job and employer who will be willing to sponsor you for a temporary work visa. You could also apply for a temporary work visa, and once you have the visa, come stay with family then look for a job, though you are more likely to get the visa if you have an employer backing you.

It's easier to get a job to sponser you and get a working visa through them otherwise you may be "stuck" with a deadend type job in retail or fast food.

Maybe try applying to work at an international organization or travel & tourism industry.

just like everyone else... sneak across teh border, secure yourself some illegal, underpaid, and unregulated labor, then disappear into the system when it comes time to contribute.
