1) There are at least 26 players a year who are part of a World Series Winning team every year. So that is no argument to support the Hall.
2) Gold Gloves mean nothing. They are like the All-Star balloting. It is a popularity contest. The best in a lot of cases do not win.
3) Top 100 in home runs. Not that impressive.
4) Batting average under .300. This alone makes it a no vote for me.
Edmonds is a good team player - but he is hurt too often, makes "great" catches because he gets out of postition, and is an averaqe hitter only. He will not even be considered for the Hall of Fame.

Not close. if he won a couple more gold gloves (which he's probably too old for now), maybe. But many guys with 350 hr are not in, .289 is okay, but doesn't get him in the hall, and he's just not all that memorable for anything other than great catches. Sorry.

Jim Edmonds has had a very good career and will go down as one of the better all-around centerfielders ever. However, as much as it pains me to say it, he doesn't currently have that stats for the HOF.

Baseball-reference.com has a very good monitor for these statistics.

Gray Ink: Batting - 61 (398) (Average HOFer ≈ 144)
HOF Standards: Batting - 39.7 (144) (Average HOFer ≈ 50)
HOF Monitor: Batting - 88.5 (178) (Likely HOFer > 100)

As you can see, Edmonds falls well short in all categories.

Absolutely zero chance of Edmonds entering the HOF.

He played his career at a time when offensive #'s skyrocketed, AND become diluted.. It used to be that 500 HR was automatic, and now it isnt.

350 HR wont get him close, nor will the sub .300 carrer Batting Average.

Just no chance.. Sorry.

No, sorry. 350 homers for a power hitting centerfielder is not enough. .289 is close but doesn't compare to the all time greats at the same position in CF.

i think of you replied your man or woman question with this fact- "His offensive numbers are slightly low on their very own, yet they are first rate". no person has ever gotten elected into the hall by basically being "first rate". i in my view like Jim Edmonds, and that i want his numbers have been greater helpful than they are, yet different than for his remarkable protective capacity, he basically would not have adequate to get in. worldwide sequence jewelry do no longer regularly element in while hall balloting rolls around. Baseball is diverse than soccer and basketball. you be attentive to who's going to instruction manual the two-minute offense on the recreation-prevailing tension, or who's going to take the final shot while the recreation's on the line. In baseball, you could purely bat as quickly as each and every 9 batters, interior a similar order, and you're able to't administration who gets the ball hit to them, so which you haven't any longer have been given as lots administration over the effect of each and every recreation.

Great defensive player but he really doesn't have the numbers for the hall. He isn't even close to 2000 career hits. He would have to have at least 5 more exceptional years in addition to what he has already done in order to have serious consideration for the hall. I'm not sure he has 5 more years left.

Edmonds has some very good seasons, even a few great ones, and his glove has been excellent... but today? I wouldn't vote for him. He's still got a few years left, and if he doesn't crumble to ashes, he's got a small but real chance at having a good finish and, always popular, hitting a few bellringer stats (400 HR would help).

I don't think so...

Most power hitters need 500 homers to make it in or they need to be amazing at something else... also .289 is not hall of fame worthy.

A few more years maybe...

I don't think so.Maybe he could make a Cardinals or Angels hall of fame but not Cooperstown. The gold gloves will help, but he's not the best defensive center fielder of all time.
