Yes, even tho I wasn't born until the late 60s... it seems like it was a much simpler time, but a lot more fun and social. A lot cleaner, a lot sweeter, and you could walk down the street without being abducted, mugged, raped or murdered.

I think every generation looks back and thinks their parents or grandparents had it made. The fifties looked like such an ideal time sandwich between the horror of WWII and the political turmoil of the 60's and 70's. But this was before the civil rights momement. Women had no say in the workplace or family. Gays were forced into hiding. Pregnant women were forced into marriage. Abused women had to stay in marriages due to the horror of divorce. Molestation was a hush hush. Maybe that's our problem now, that we don't leave any of our lives behind closed doors. Trust me, someday there with be a generation ( hopefully ) that thinks we had it better than them. Because I'm sure someone in the 50's thought the 20's were better.

I think the most positive thing for it being the 50's would be it being a simplier time. Not some much hate in the world. Everyone had good well put together families and just seemed like the way of life!

50s was the Korean War and reconstruction back in my nation. NO thanks.
I more likely wish it was the early 90s (was living back in the States then). Everything was somewhat peachy.
