I been working at this company for like 4 months now and know how to do whatever my job requires. I try to do my job as perfect as I can but then always gets complaints which I know most of the time isn't my fault.

I work 2nd shift and the person on 1st shift does the same job as I do. That person has been working there for like 10+ years and now seems to work lazy and I usually get complaints for stuff that he didn't do.

I talked to one of the supervisors about it before and told me to just do my job.. Should I just suck it up?

He's also good buddies with people who worked with as long as he has..well most of them I believe. One of them complained something about what "I" did wrong..if that helps answering.

keep telling the supervisor, if your job is at stake here, you should let them know that your doing everything asked of you, and that someone else's mistakes are being reflected upon you

I had a friend who was the best sales person in his job, but the boss keep telling him to sell more more more. He became so stressed he quit.

The evidence is that most productivity problems are caused by management. Now of course they simply pass the problems down to you.

What can you do. Well talking politely to your manager is one way. Another is simply taking it on the chin. Obviously the lazy person still has a job, so they aren't going to fire him.

They might fire you if you keep complaining about your treatment. Managers like to feel they are telling people what to do, if people do their job perfectly, they feel useless. So listen, say you will do you best to fix it.

If the problem remains or gets worse, start looking around for a new job. They can keep Mr Lazy and lose you.

Keep a journal of each thing left undone or incorrectly done. Keep the exact date, time and a detailed descripion just incase you have to defend yourself at somepoint.

Depending on the size of the company, and since the supervisors dont seem to care, start at the top, write a short well written letter to the president, explain the exact description of the events, how it could leave the company open to litigation, lost revenue or tarnished reputation.

Be positive, supportive and brief.

most of all be professional

Get out of that job as quick as you can. The guy with 10+ years experience probably has a good relationship with the management and is giving you a bad reputation in their eyes. Ditch them.

bud88cyn answer is a good one. The only thing i would do first is go to the lazy guy first and let him know about whats happening and give him a chance to fix the problem first. Then if he balks, go to the company.
