Yep this is exciting news i agree, however 20 light years away is just soooo totally out of reach of the capabilities of our current (and foreseeable) technology that it is unlikely that we will ever know.

Hopefully one day we can travel faster (closer to the light of speed), although the laws of physics seem to suggest that humans or our robots travelling anywhere near the speed of light will be beyond us.

Even if we can manage close to those speeds it would take 20+ years to send a probe there and another 20 years for any light based transmission signal to get back to us.

Even so, one day i hope we find clear evidence of life elsewhere out there. It would change a lot of thinking here on planet earth.
:)

well I cant really think off a good name but I will say the chances of it being the new earth for humans in the future are pretty slim to none. Its so far away and unless we are advance enough to travel faster than the speed of light we will be spending a very long time on a space ship just getting there so the space ship would more likely be our new home. Also if the planet is suitable for life it has a very small habitable zone (for earthly humans at least) compared to earth since half the planet is to hot for humans and the other half is to cold with no light so the habitable zone would get pretty crowded after a few generations. Also if their is life their already there is a slim chance they could be more advance then us we may be unwelcome guest but hey this is all still speculation lol who knows.
