Although it might feel weird socially, it's worth knowing that 70-80% of the world's male population is uncircumcised and the rate of circumcision has been steadily declining, hovering around 60% nationally for male infants born today. The actual rate varies widely from state to state, with the rate being much lower in the western states such as CA.

Women are most comfortable with what they know, and in the US most have known the circumcised penis a lot longer than the uncircumcised. They might prefer the circumcised penis, or think it looks better, but if a woman loves you it shouldn't matter (it's rather shallow to reject a guy based on appearances like this). And again, it depends where you live too.

Circumcision removes a lot of nerve endings in the foreskin, so it makes sense that it'd be less sensitive afterwards. A recent study has shown just this (see link 1). Also, several studies have found that circumcision decreases the sexual satisfaction and pleasure for not only the man, but the woman as well (see links 2 and 3).

If your foreskin functions normally, I'm sure you've found that hygiene isn't a big deal and very easy to maintain (see link 4). Good hygiene of the foreskin and penis actually prevents a lot of the problems that people on these forums and boards are most vocal about; good hygiene can essentially make the difference between circumcised and uncircumcised men in regards to contracting STDs statistically insignificant.

This is true of HIV as well. While the most publicized recent study shows that circumcision might decrease the rate of contracting HIV for men, there's another study that's less visible. In it, proper and prompt genital hygiene essentially negates this benefit of circumcision; with good hygiene, there is no statistical difference between circumcised and uncircumcised men in regards to contracting HIV (see link 5). Furthermore, no one really knows the cause-effect relation between circumcision and HIV, so there is still a lot of heated debate around this (see link 6). One thing is clear, good hygiene + safe sex (i.e. condom use) >>> circumcision.

In my opinion, you shouldn't get circumcised just to fit in or to please a group of women. If there's nothing medically wrong with your foreskin, it functions normally, you maintain good hygiene, and you practice safe sex, it's probably more beneficial to keep your foreskin. You just need to find someone who loves you enough to either not care (and most don't I think) or someone who prefers you uncut the way you are. For more discussion, see the last 2 links.

New studies have proven that circumcision reduces sensitivity and pleasure, and increases masturbation difficulty by over 60%. The studies are in the British Journal of Urology:

Josh, I really think you're worrying too much. Circumcision is now less common, with some states having rates as low as 14%. Parents aren't doing it anymore for a reason.

Women may be more inclined to say what they're used to, but if you give them the chance to experience it, all that can change. After all, as long as you keep it clean (takes less than 10 seconds a day to do so) everything should be fine. =)

ADVANTAGES OF BEING INTACT:
--Circumcision cuts WAY down on sexual enjoyment for a man due to loss of nerve-rich foreskin. A new study proves conclusively, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that circumcision decreases sensitivity for the man. http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1464-410X.2006.06685.x
--Getting cut causes the glans (head) to develop a keratinized layer to protect from rubbing on clothing, further cutting sensation. Many cut men are unable to ejaculate during intercourse and have to finish by hand. Intact men can go all the way.
--nine out of ten women who have had both prefer intact penises: http://www.healthcentral.com/drdean/408/60750.html That's really pretty definitive. Any woman who would reject you for being whole is not worth being with anyway.
--foreskin makes masturbation more fun - and better for your partner to play with.
--Circumcision hurts when it's done, and you'll be out of commission for weeks, if not months. They'll tell you not to get any erections--just try!
--a cut penis looks kind of sad with that scar where the foreskin belongs. Uncut is MUCH hotter looking.
--Circumcision has a slight chance of complications. You really don't want bad things happening down there!

ADVANTAGES OF BEING CUT: Circumcision has no advantages that are not fictional or only relevant in a few areas
--You can be just as clean if you are uncircumcised. Wash. It's THAT simple. Even if you're cut, you still need to wash.
-- If you're sleeping around, you need to use condoms regardless or you will get diseases.
--Some studies have shown a lower rate of cancer of the penis in cut guys, but this cancer is so rare that it's hard to get a good statistical sample. More boys/men die each year from botched circumcisions than from cancer of the penis.
--Recent reports from Africa say that circumcision reduces the risk of AIDS from unprotected hetrosexual activity; others show the opposite. This has little relevance to areas of the world where condoms are cheap, readily available, and culturally acceptable. The US has the highest circumcision rate in the developed world and also the highest AIDS rate in that group. http://www.circinfo.org/hiv.html

Keep your foreskin. You and your partner will be glad you did!

Circumcision is a horrible mutilation. Why would you want to do that to yourself? There are obviously some ignorant, sexist women who believe that a man shold be mutilated before they have sex with him but there are probably more women who are more willing to experience the whole you. The same women who insist on a mutilated partner would be horified if you didn't accept them without them having had a boob job or their labial lips (which also collect smegma) cut away. Proponents of male circumcision use exactly the same spurious arguments for the mutilation as proponents of female circumcision use in Africa. Have a look at my answer to the question two above yours regarding masturbation and lube (click on the first link.)

Circumcision removes over half the skin of the penis (about 15 square inches or 40 square centimetres, in an adult) and it's not just simple skin. It's packed with nerve endings, special anatomical features like the ridged band and has a unique elastic gliding action, allowing it to slide on itself and act like lube. This action is what most males use to masturbate with except those who are cut so tightly that they have to use lube or just rub it dry. Of course the intact male has the option to use lube too if he wants to. During intercourse it acts like lube on entry and may act as a dam, preventing lubricating secretions escaping from the vagina. In one study women reported that sex with an intact partner was gentler and more satisfying since he doesn't have to thrust as hard to feel enough stimulation. Removing the foreskin turns the surface of the glans from an inner mucosal membrane to outside skin. Newly circumcised adults usually go through some weeks of intense discomfort as the glans is constantly exposed to rubbing on clothing, until it develops a thicker keratin layer and becomes less sensitive. They also suffer bruising, sometimes burst stiches and bleeding plus swelling, that may go on for six months. Total abstinance from all sex and masturbation is necessary for about six weeks and it usually takes longer to get anything like normal sexual function back. Some guys like the result but others suffer loss of sensation and hate it. A new study has shown real differences in fine touch sensitivity between circumcised and intact penises and that the most sensitive parts of the intact penis are those that would be removed by circumcision.

I've had sex with both (2 cuts and 1 uncut) and I think uncircumcized is better. when hard they dont look that much different.

I like uncircumcized because its easier to pleasure since you just slide it up and down. I also thought uncircumcized men weren't good but that changed after I had experience with one. You should keep it since as long its clean its more to play with

What makes you think that man can improve on God's design for him? Try, for exampl, and imagine a design alteration. For example, an extra eye in the back of your head... and the consequences of the change. You will see that it is quite difficult to make physical improvements from the norm.

Yes of course you should get yourself circumcised. Circumcised men enjoy better hygiene, freedom from smegma, appearance to women, comfort, self-esteem and FAR, FAR better sexual sensation for both themselves and their female partners during intercourse. Most discerning women who have tried both much prefer a circumcised man and they will soon tell you why! There are NO disadvantages to being circumcised and you should not hesitate to get rid of that useless, smelly sleeve of wrinkled skin. All men should be routinely circumcised.
