This is a question which is going to spark a debate. Personally, I believe that everything we see is the result of the four fundamental forces acting together. Other's will say that the universe does follow understandable laws, but god caused the big bang. Hardcore religious folk will tell you god made everything, but even pope john paul the second said something along the lines of our universe can be explained by science, but we must remember that god started it all, whether it be at the big bang or something else.

There are so many theories about how the Solar system came to be like th Big Bang theory and many more. A scientist named Ptolemy said that the earth was the center of the Solar System( because of the rising and falling of the sun and then years passed and Nicolaus Copernicus said that the sun is really the center of the Solar System and the planets are revolving around the sun.

Personally, to the extent that I have beliefs, I believe that the Creator created the laws of physics which I do not see as cold (in fact they explain the marvelous warmth of the sun). Our role in the universe is to be ourselves. I don't believe that the universe was made for us but that shouldn't stop us from enjoying it fully. After all, I don't close my eyes when I pass my neighbor's flowers even though I'm pretty sure he planted them for his own enjoyment. I think that when possible we should add the the beauty of the universe but that is quite subjective.

It is hard to believe the universe just happened .How can nothing become something on its own .It makes more sense to believe in a creator of the universe. Science can't explain what happened just before the theory of the" big bang"
Actually the name big bang is misleading Space is silent bang is noise.

The big bang where, the universe emerged from an extremely dense and hot state. Space itself has been expanding ever since, carrying galaxies with it.

God may have created the Universe, and God may have invented and defined all the rules of physics.
But if He, or She, did, then He (or She) did it 13.7 billions years ago, starting with the Big Bang, and hasn't touched the Universe since.

i'd like to rephrase the word "made" as "created". You make things with what is available to you. But creation is an act of calling into existence something that does not exist before it comes into existence. Only God is capable of this act. That's one of the reasons we call Him God. We are created after His own image and so, man creates too. We share his abilities to create things. But not to the extent as He is capable of. It's into enhancing such abilities and potentials in us that God calls us. It's a relationship with Him alone that activates our capabilities to the true sense.
Like other forms of animals differ from humans in their capabilities, we differ from God in several respects, one of which is His ability to create things infinitely and be an infinite and eternal being. It's beyond man's comprehension as we can't conceive of many things in this interesting world God has created.
