Went to the Malibu Getty this past fall. The Italian Villa one with antiquities and ancient art, versus the modern one. of the two, I preferred the modern, which I had been to some 4 years previous. Reason: I knew most the names and artists in the modern. And of course, most ancient art is anonymous. I think recognizing the art celebs, as it were, gives me that grade schooler ego rush... that thrill of seeing something that you know about, that not everyone else does.

Both have their points, though. I recommend either, but the modern gets a slight edge.

Check both out here: http://www.getty.edu/museum/

Oh gosh, I only go to museums when I'm out of the country. I guess the last time was about six months ago in Buenos Aires. I never think about going to a museum when I'm home and I live really close to San Francisco where I have a million choices! That's kind of stupid of me.

I took my wife to a special event and the San Diego Museum of Art in early March. We went to see a large photography display of work by Annie Liebovitz. You can read about it on my blog at the link below.

I went to a museum that had art in it a couple weeks ago for a field trip with my school, but we didn't see the art, we went to go see the King Tut exhibit. It was cool!
