~~ No Eric don't retreat to your room; that's hiding away ~~

I'm sorry you're feeling less than 100% happy today.

I don't often feel sad, but if I'm feeling a bit blue - I drive.
Take my dogs, get in the car and just go.
Put on some great music (really loud), all windows down, wind gusting in and sing just as loud as the music!
Night time is the best for this of course, lol

Eric, when you have your licence - try it.
I guarantee it blows all your cares away!
~~ Just watch for the roos ~~

Sadness or depression really makes a person sleepy because the thought of something bad or negative will really zap your energy. I used to do that, but now, I exert effort to replace that with a happy thought. I take a walk around, drop by the grocery or nearby store and buy something that I like or call/get in touch with a friend I haven't seen or talked to in a while and they surely end up telling me things that brighten up my day or I end up telling them the good things that have happened to me. That surely boosts my energy and I'm no longer inclined to go to sleep.

I go to seal beach and just sit close to the water.

I'll go to a nice park and walk around or shoot some hoops.

I'll lift some weights sometimes until I get tired enough to pass out.

I'll play with my dog.

Most of the time I just try to get away from people in general so I dont have to hear "Are you alright?" or "Whats wrong?"

That kills me and makes me even more sad.

My bed
Outside to play or cuddle with my pets
Up the back to visit my old pets graves
The beach
Bushwalking (I don't have to go far for that!)
My parents house, the home I grew up in
A friends house for a chat and an alcoholic beverage
My computer

Most of all, my bed or cuddling my pets though.

Great question. :)

I live near a beautiful lake. In the summer, I sit along the lake shore and let the water lap at my toes. In the winter, I walk along the shore and if I'm lucky ... I may see a deer, moose or wolf walking across the ice. I find that when I'm troubled or sad, it really helps me in sorting out my thoughts and solving any problems.

Yes, when things are not going well for me I go to the cemetery where my grandfather is buried. I've always believed that he is my guardian angel and it's so peaceful and quiet there. I can usually just sit and talk to him about everything I am feeling and I can cry in peace as well. Believe it or not it's a very therapeutic place.

Oh, we're the same.
I go to my room, shut the door and throw myself on my comfy bed.^_^

But if I'm sad outside, I would just walk around or stay in one corner.
