The calcium carbonate is limestone scales formed on the sides of a swimming pool due to there being too much basicity of the water. This may be due to adding a substance. What substance or reactants would these be?

Ca(OH)2 (aq) + CO2 -> CaCO3 + H2O

Precipitation.

Ca(OH)2+CO2--------> Ca(CO)3+H2O
